Privacy Policy

The short version: Larder does not collect, store, or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. Everything you enter, your family's details, allergies, meal plans, favourites, and freezer inventory, stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

1. What we collect

Nothing. Larder has no user accounts, no sign-up, and no server. The app does not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking software of any kind. We have no way of knowing who you are, what you cook, or how you use the app.

2. What's stored, and where

Everything you enter into Larder, including your meal plans, family members' names and allergies, dietary preferences, favourite and disliked recipes, pantry and freezer inventory, and app settings, is stored locally on your device only, using Apple's standard on-device storage. None of it leaves your device, and we (the developer) never see it.

If you back up your device with iCloud or iTunes/Finder, your Larder data is included in that backup in the same way as any other app's data, subject to Apple's own backup and encryption practices, not anything Larder does itself.
If you use the Export feature in Profile, a backup file is created and shared using the standard iOS share sheet, so it goes wherever you choose to send it (Files, AirDrop, email, etc). We have no visibility into or copy of that file.
Deleting the app removes all of this data from your device. There is nothing left on a server to delete, because nothing was ever sent to one.

3. Subscriptions and payment

If you subscribe to Larder, that purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. Apple processes your payment information and manages your subscription; Larder never receives or stores your card details, billing address, or Apple ID. Apple's own Privacy Policy governs how they handle that information, available at apple.com/legal/privacy.

4. Health, allergy, and nutrition information

Any allergy or dietary information you enter for yourself or family members is used only to filter recipes shown to you within the app, and is stored on your device like everything else. It is never transmitted, shared, or used for any purpose beyond that filtering. See our Terms of Service for important information about the limits of this feature; allergen tags are estimates and shouldn't replace checking ingredient labels yourself.

5. Third parties

Larder does not share data with third parties, because it does not collect any to share. The only external services the app talks to are Apple's own systems (the App Store, for subscriptions) and, when you view a recipe, a request to Google Fonts to load the app's typefaces, which does not include any of your personal information.

6. Children's privacy

Larder is intended for use by adults planning meals for their household, including meals for children and babies. We do not knowingly collect any information from children, and in any case, as explained above, we don't collect information from anyone.

7. Your rights

Because all data stays on your device and we have no copy of it, there is nothing for us to provide, correct, or delete on request, your data is already entirely in your own control. You can view, change, export, or permanently delete everything at any time from within the app (Profile → Export, or Profile → Reset all data).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app's data practices change. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
